The Kettering Ice Arena in Kettering, Ohio is home to the South Dayton Figure Skating Club.  SDFSC is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization and since 1972 has offered full membership privileges of the United States Figure Skating Association.

Participation in SDFSC is the next step for serious skaters who have completed the City of Kettering’s USFS Basic Skills program and wish to expand their skills in the various disciplines of figure skating.

SDFSC creates opportunities for skaters to build self-esteem as they become accomplished in their choice of Moves in the Field; Freestyle; Dance; Synchronized Skating; and Pairs.

SDFSC offers quality ice time designed to maximize skating progress and maintains a roster of Club-approved skating professionals who teach private lessons during Club ice time.  USFS judges participate in SDFSC test sessions to evaluate skaters’ progress through a series of tests identified in the USFS skating program.

In addition to periodic testing, SDFSC encourages skaters to participate regularly in competitions and exhibitions.  SDFSC hosts is own annual competition, Silver Skate, and SDFSC skaters may attend competitions hosted across the nation including the several held annually within a 200-mile radius of Dayton.

SDFSC is the sponsor organization for the Ice Force synchronized skating teams.  Ice Force offers figure skaters a unique team approach to competitive figure skating.  Synchro competitions are separate events from regular skating competitions and teams have the opportunity to travel to Michigan, northern Ohio, and Chicago.
